Options Trading & Seasonality Research
Alongside his healthcare career, Thomas A. Cross traded options on stocks listed on the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq, and taught options trading in plain language to everyday investors — the people Wall Street never explains anything to — through his site, TacticalOptions.guru.
He was a founding member of a private, invitation-only think tank of Wall Street options traders — a group that met twice a week in New York City. Living in the North Country, he would not let the distance cost him his seat at that table: he flew from Burlington to New York City and back the same day to be in the room.
His seasonality research — a study of how stocks and options behave at the same points of the calendar, year after year — grew out of that work. It is built on eleven complete years of market data, and it holds every pattern it reports to a strict standard: a trade only counts if the record behind it is strong and the average move is large enough to matter. The research began as a private discipline — a way of checking, with his own numbers, what other traders only asserted — and it remains the foundation of his options work.
